Pho Bun Bun: Reviews & Ratings
Their seafood tower is impressive and tasty. Its price seems expensive. However, it is justifiable for its portion, taste and quality. The portion seems to capable of serving three to four persons. The seafood is fresh. The mussels, clams, shrimps and crab legs are sweet. The shrimps are surprisingly large. The rice roll with shrimp is nice as some herbs are added. This gives a delightfully extra layer of refreshing taste and will not make you feel full quickly. The fried shrimp cake is also nice as coconut is added to offer an extra layer of taste. The salad is also nicely made. Different sauces are served. The taste of the satay sauce can be stronger. The restaurant is spacious. The attendants are friendly, diligent and attentive. After all, a Vietnamese restaurant which worths further visits.
Really good authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Portion sizes are very large for reasonable prices. I had the bun bun special, which many people order, and it offers a good variety including seafood. Expect to wait for a table during busy times. It's always a challenge to find parking in this plaza as there are many eateries here. I will return to try more dishes at this restaurant.
A small busy Vietnamese restaurant. Food is good with nice presentation. Mango salad is so tasty. Spring roll and all are good too Very satisfied with the meal. Definitely will go back.
First off I really wanted to gatekeep this place because it will get super busy when word gets out. But everything is so amazing there that I have to write a review. Food and price is great!! So worth your money! Good portions and great taste! I've been there twice within 2.5 weeks. My husband thinks the BBH is one of the best in his recent recollection of all his BBHs. I agree it's pretty decent. Pho, no complaints! Has good amounts of meat and wasn't tough. The rice, my son ate up super quickly. He's a slow eater. He ate a lot of spring rolls from the platter. The best bang for your buck is the platter with rice paper rolls! We had so much left over I could eat it for dinner tomorrow. Service was amazing, they brought us extra bowls and plates without me even asking. They purposely brought me a jar of tea and water because she knew the kids would not drink the tea. Again I didn't ask, unless they give every table both every time. I don't remember what happened the first time I came. The place is clean and not cramped up with tables. One thing however was the iced coffee. The coffee was super hot and when it was poured into the ice, it melted the ice very quickly which resulted in a very diluted coffee. Not a big deal but that was something that we noticed. So maybe ask for not so hot water for the drip. Please do visit this place! I will if you don't, I have so many other items I want to try.
Drove 20mins here to have some Hainan style chicken with rice but unfortunately after we ordered they announced they sold out all the chicken . Basil pork rice was good, house special pho was so good too! However, we ordered grilled pork neck for appetizers but it never came. Three different severs asked us if the dish had been served or not, we answered three times it wasn’t here. Overall it’s a good place to eat but need to improve the service! Looking forward to having some Hainan chicken rice next time!
Solid 4.5 stars. I think the resto is still relatively (less than 1 year open) fresh/new. For me, what is really making me and my friends come back often is the pricing. I don't know if it was strategic on their part, but they have effectively undercut some of their biggest viet competitors by $3-4 on a lot of their items which to me makes this resto rank VERY HIGH in terms of value because of their also huge portions. Admittedly, the taste of their pho broth still doesn't beat Ngon Corner in Richmond Hill for me but they have some items that I can't find on a lot of resto menus. For example, the signature grilled meat platter is amazing. It says serves 2-4 ppl on the menu and I think that's pretty accurate. My friend and I shared one and we're big eaters so we shared it between the two of us and actually felt full! They also PACK the platter with ingredients and don't skimp on anything which is awesome. You love to see it. Also, I came with the gf and the curry is quite layered in terms of flavour. But for me, the most underrated item is the tomato beef brisket noodle soup. Damn, that tomato broth SLAPPED. Better broth that a lot of chinese soup noodle places I've been to and the brisket was also very tender. Even though Ngon Corner is still packing the most flavour in their pho broth, I found myself somehow gravitating to this place with more and more visits because of the sheer value and pricing (I've also told a lot of ppl that they're quite affordable compared to some of the other Viet stalwarts in Markham/RHill). Hopefully this continues and they don't get greedy and decide to increase the prices!
The Rib Pho was good. Soup base was tasty, the rib was good and there was a lot of meat. They didn’t cheap out. The curry was good as well as the bread. The coffee felt like it wasn’t as strong as i hoped. Food came hot and fast.
It was a little chaotic when I first went in to the restaurant. Waited around 2-3 minutes before I was prepared a table. Service was ok, had to grab utensils from a different table. Tried the mango salad, special pho and 3 type bbq meat with rice. Nothing special about the mango salad, the special pho only had 3 types of ingredients, rare beef, beef brisket and beef ball. The rice dish was decent as well, a bit oily from the recook but flavorful.
